Pre-College Piano
The GMTA Pre-College Piano Auditions is a two-round competition, starting at the Local Association level and moving to the state level. ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS STATED IN THESE DOCUMENTS PERTAIN TO BOTH LEVELS OF THE COMPETITION. For complete information on the Local Association level, contact your Local Association Auditions Chair.

Piano Concerto
The Georgia Music Teachers Association Auditions are dedicated to the promotion of excellence in piano concerto performance. GMTA Auditions guidelines are set and regulated by GMTA. The GMTA Piano Concerto Auditions are open to students in Grades 9 through 11. Students are to perform only one movement of any concerto written by any composer.

College/Adult Piano
The Georgia Music Teachers Association Auditions are dedicated to the promotion of excellence in solo piano performance. GMTA Auditions guidelines are set and regulated by GMTA. The GMTA College/Adult Piano Auditions are open to college and adult piano students.

The GMTA String Auditions are open to students in Kindergarten through grade 12 as well as college and adult students. All references to grades means school grade levels.

Voice
The Georgia Music Teachers Association Auditions are dedicated to the promotion of excellence in vocal performance. GMTA Auditions guidelines are set and regulated by GMTA. The GMTA Voice Auditions are open to students in grades 9 through 12 as well as college and adult students. Each grade/level is a separate event. All references to grades means school grade levels.

Instrumental Concerto
The Georgia Music Teachers Association Auditions are dedicated to the promotion of excellence in instrumental concerto performance. GMTA Auditions guidelines are set and regulated by GMTA. The GMTA Instrumental Concerto Auditions are open to students in Grades 6 through 11 on the following instruments: strings, woodwinds, brass, and classical guitar. Students are to perform only one movement of any concerto written by any composer.

Theory Achievement Test
The Georgia Music Teachers Association Auditions are dedicated to providing recognition for outstanding achievement in music theory. GMTA’s theory program has been revised and now includes five levels (I, II, III, IV, and V) of testing, effective August 2008. Each level includes an ear training section. GMTA Auditions guidelines are set and regulated by GMTA.
